First baths
A puppy that has calm early baths is easier to wash for the rest of its life, so go slowly. Stand the puppy on a towel or mat so it does not slip. Use lukewarm water, wet the coat from the neck down and work in a little shampoo with your hands. Keep the lather away from the eyes and the inside of the ears. Rinse fully, then towel dry and keep the puppy out of draughts until the coat is dry.
Good to know
Check the label for the youngest age the shampoo can be used at. If your puppy seems unwell, ask your vet whether to wait. When the dog is fully grown you can switch to an adult shampoo from our dog shampoos and conditioners.
